A recent study shows that small-scale logging in Mexico could be endangering Monarch butterflies.
The Associated Press reports that the World Wildlife Fund’s study ( hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/… ) showed that these butterflies tend to migrate from the U.S. and Canada in the winter to find refuge and warmth in a reserve in central Mexico. The reserve is 33,482 acres big and it has lost 41 acres of pine and fir trees this year alone due to illegal logging …
