The number of pangolins killed by poaching is devastating. Pangolins are trafficked, thousands at a time, for their scales which are boiled off their bodies and used in phony Asian medical potions. In Asia, an estimated 200 000 are killed each year, mostly for the Chinese trade. To add to their woes, pangolins – and even their unborn babies – are considered a delicacy and eaten as a status symbol in some Asian countries.

Petition: End Animal Sacrifice at Nepal’s Dashain Festival
The Dashain Festival is one of the most popular religious festivals in Nepal. But for tens to hundreds of thousands of innocent animals, it means cold-hearted bloodshed.
On the 8th day of the 10-day festival, devotees line the streets to sacrifice and behead animals. It is believed that by appeasing the ‘blood thirsty’ goddess, Durja, that fertility will be rewarded to them in return.
And this happens every single year. Now the animal slaughter bloodbath is set to begin again in just a few days.
URGENT: The slaughter begins October 24th. We don’t have much time left.
Tell Nepal’s Minister of Home Affairs:
We must end animal sacrifice altogether. Replace it with more compassionate offerings.
