It’s Ban Live Exports: International Awareness Day!
International Awareness Day: 14th June 2020
On 14th June, campaigners all over the world will once again unite for animals in the fifth annual Ban Live Exports: International Awareness Day.
This year’s day of action comes at a crucial moment in the battle to ban UK live exports – and we need your support.
Compassion in World Farming has launched Judicial Review proceedings against the Scottish Government ( action.ciwf.org.uk/page/61498/… ) over the export of unweaned calves. We’re arguing that, since the legal requirements for feed on journeys over eight hours aren’t being met, these journeys are unlawful and must be stopped. It is shameful to force animals to go for up to 23 hours without food.
Shockingly, the Scottish Government are opposing our Judicial Review. So, we’re mobilising campaigners everywhere to lobby the Scottish Government to stop defending this cruel trade.
