PETA calls on academy to stop killing rabbits

The animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is calling on the Air Force Academy to stop killing, skinning and eating rabbits as part of its survival training.
PETA said that the academy, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has spent thousands of dollars buying tame rabbits from local dealers over the past two years. The rabbits are used for “sustenance” training exercises for third-year cadets, teaching them ways to survive in the wild. …
