2013 Is A Tragic Year For Elephants

Recent horrifying reports from Zimbabwe tell of poachers poisoning a water hole, killing 41 elephants in order to steal their tusks. This brings the total number of deaths just this month to 84.

This deadly trend needs to stop immediately, or elephant populations may never fully recover. The best way to do this is to curb the global demand for ivory, especially in China where the material is considered a sign of wealth.

If we can bring the “white gold” trade down, we can ensure these beautiful creatures continue to live among us for years to come!
