Environmental activists have urged parents to avoid children’s clothes that contain heavy dyes and plastic prints – including those from big fashion brands – because they are likely to contain potentially harmful chemicals.

Iceland health authorities ban “whale beer”, reports say

Reykjavik (dpa) – Health authorities in Iceland have halted sales of a beer containing whale meal, which a local brewer claimed was a “healthy, low-fat alternative” to traditional beer, news reports said Tuesday.

Whaling firm Hvalur that makes the whale flour did not have a license to produce it for human consumption, said Helgi Helgason, an inspector with the public health authority in western Iceland.
