Each year, millions of animals ( www.hsi.org/campaigns/end_anim… ) around the world are used for laboratory testing. Animal advocacy groups such as PETA and the Human Society have been very vocal about the need to end this practice ( www.peta.org/issues/animals-us… ), both on moral and economic grounds ( animal testing, as it turns out, is very unreliable – www.livescience.com/46147-anim… ), while researchers continue to defend the practice, arguing that it is necessary to improve the quality of human life ( news.discovery.com/animals/ani… ) …
