New rules to restrict lion trophy imports ( qz.com/578724/african-lions-wi… ) into the United States may cut South Africa’s revenue from hunting lions in captivity in half, according ( www.bloomberg.com/news/article… ) to the country’s Professional Hunters Association (PHASA).

The US Fish and Wildlife Service announced earlier this month ( www.nytimes.com/2015/12/21/sci… ) plans to protect lions in Africa under the Endangered Species Act.
