Video Shows Alleged Elephant Abuse at German Zoo

The Hannover Adventure Zoo in Germany ( www.zoo-hannover.de/en ) is coming under attack after the release of hidden camera video footage ( www.peta.org/blog/hanover-zoo-… ) that shows handlers striking elephants.
The video, from the animal welfare organization PETA Germany ( www.peta.de/ ), reveals zookeepers yanking young elephants’ heads to the ground, thrusting sharp training tools called bull hooks into their necks, and using whips them to make them perform circus-like tricks.
